Obituary of Barbara Taylor Sansom

Barbara Taylor Sansom, 86, widow of her beloved husband of 59 years, Thomas Donald Sansom, died Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Prisma Tuomey Health Hospital. Born in Eva, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late William Homer Taylor and Waverlene Turner Taylor. Mrs. Sansom was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Bethany Sunday school class. Although unable to attend in recent years, she treasured the relationships and kindness of the members of the First Presbyterian Church. Our “Mimi” spent her life loving and supporting her husband, children, and grandchildren and her faith was in Jesus. Surviving are a son, Kevin Donald Sansom (Amy) of Wetumpka, AL; one daughter, Karen Sansom McCreight (Bobby) of Sumter; seven grandchildren, Tyler Brooke Sansom, Kevin Donald Sansom, Jr., Thomas Donald Sansom, II, Benjamin Taylor Sansom, Ann Elizabeth McCreight, Catherine McCreight Glass, (Jake) and Sarah Stewart McCreight; nephews, Mark Hardison (Pam), Tom Sansom, (Lynn) Dewayne White; a sister-in-law, Elaine Sansom Hardison. She was predeceased by one sister, Delane Taylor White. Graveside Services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday in the Sumter Cemetery with Rev. Mark Yoder officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the dedicated staff of The Sumter Grove for their loving attention and care for Barbara and also to her special caregiver of many years, Loretta Bosier.
